5 tips for throwing a really solid event!

  1. AMAZING VENDORS: If you don’t have an A team of experienced vendors, it will show at your event. You need people who take pride in their operations (usually the owners) & people who love their craft (passionate personalities). When doing an event of any size, you want to be able to trust that your vendors have what they need & are self-sufficient too. You also should make sure your catering vendors are great with people because they are the ones at your event & who your guests interact with!

  2. A COOL & KIND VENUE: If you can pick a venue that people have never been to before, that will elevate your event just based on curiosity! You also need a venue that works with you (and your vendors)! Venues that don’t have a coordinator or anyone to represent their venue at the event, means they really don’t care about your event (and if it goes well or not). They also should help with power & trash.

  3. WELCOME DRINKS & APPS: If you want your guests to immediately be happy, welcome them with some sort of delicious snack and signature cocktail! You don’t know where your guests are coming from or what kind of day they had, so greeting them with good food & drink will immediately put them in a better mood. Seriously, it makes a world of difference. A sweet treat at the end is a nice added touch too!

  4. MORE MUSIC: Depending on the event, you could just go with a loud speaker & legit playlist, however you could also find a good DJ to keep the vibes up. Either way, there needs to be music playing upon arrival up until the very end! Music puts people in a more positive mood & helps people engage with others better. Even if there’s no dancing, there’s something about music that puts people at ease & socializing much easier.

  5. YOU MUST HAVE FUN: If you are the person throwing the event, you are probably exhausted & feel like you forgot to do a million things. However, if you spend your time trying to knit pick little details, your guests will be able to tell, & therefore kill the vibe. If you come in with good energy & are genuinely happy to be there, your guests will feel that & are more likely to experience the same energy. It makes a huge difference - If you are happy, they will be happy too!

Of course there are more… but also I really think this covers your basics when it comes to event planning. As as you know, I am not an event planner but do have LOTS of event planning experience. Since starting this business I have also found that my clients utilize me for more than just a bartending service. It’s seriously the HAUL package. From bar to logistics, to flowers to food, there is definitely lots of ways to go. However, with my experience, as a vendor and as a participant, I have witnessed both good and bad events, I feel confident in saying these tips will help guide your event to being one of the best.
